Planning future cities requires forward thinking, and an intention to think outside of the box and to break routines. This month, I was pleased to provide an presentation on the issues of "Future Proofing Cities" for the Guangzhou Conference of Asia Architecture And Urbanism Alliance. This event also invited a wide range of experts to share their ideas of the future.

Active Ageing in HK

The conference was held at the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre with a theme of "Toward a New Design Horizon ——From Problem Solving to Future Discovering".

​My presentation was divided into 4 sessions, and I discussed about the past of a changing world, the future in the science fiction films, current development of modern technology and the world in the coming future.

I finished the presentation with my article on futureproofing cities which received 2019 Reed Mallik Medal from the Institute of Civil Engineers.

​With diverse interests and backgrounds, other speakers provided their speeches on various topics during the conference.
