Recently, the new building of Shanghai Natural History Museum was completed, which will be officially open to the public at the end of this year.
The new museum, also named ‘the green nautilus’, is located at Jing’an District, Shanghai, with an overall construction area of 451,000 square meters. There are 2 floors under the ground and 3 above. The building height is 18 meters.
The building has applied ecological energy saving technologies such as energy-saving curtain wall, solar energy, ground hot water energy, natural light. It is going to be a representative of smart art museum in China.
The new building is jointly designed by PERKINS+WILL and Tongji Architectural Design.
