Sichuan Forestry Department released an ecological protection plan on Oct 10th which stipulates that the quantities of woodland and forest, wetland, sandy plantation and species should not be lower than certain figures. Besides, a national park devoted to the giant panda is planned in Ya’an and Mianyang city. Currently, there are 1206 giant pandas inhabiting 26.5 million mu (1.77 million ha) of land in Sichuan Province, accounting for 76% in China. News Resource |
