Several private bike rental stations are in operation along roads, sidewalks and in underground pedestrian walkways near Shenzhen’s HongshuLin (Mangrove) Park.

The private rental stations offer much lower prices than those in the park, at least 10 yuan (30%) lower per hour.

Demand is high among visitors to the park, with its greenway ideal for cycling along the coast; however many local residents complain that the stations are illegally occupying roads and are a traffic hazard.

They express the hope that traffic authorities will step in with appropriate regulations.
