Shenzhen launched strict draft amendments to the regulations on traffic offense punishment.

According to the amendment, drivers could be fined 300 yuan (US$49) for using their mobile phones while driving.

In addition, driving non-motorized vehicles that don’t meet the city’s standards and illegally occupying lanes designated for motor vehicles, the penalty is raised from 200 to 500 yuan.

What’s more, backing cars in highways, express ways or tunnels, or not yielding emergency cars or parking illegal will be fined even higher.
