A costly pedestrian overcrossing in Zhengzhou City, central China's Henan Province, is set to be down after only 5 year's operation.

The pedestrian overcrossing, located at Wenhua Road and Huanghe Road in Zhengzhou City, central China's Henan Province, is set to be down after only 5 year's operation with an investment worth around 2,700,000 yuan.

The dismantlement is to accommodate the construction of Zhengzhou subway line 5.

The pedestrian overcrossing has been playing a key role in easing the pedestrian traffic caused by surrounding schools, hospitals and supermarkets.

Many local citizens complained that a number of costly pedestrian overcrossings in Zhengzhou were tore down within a short time, calling this a waste of governmental infrastructure funding.
