Shenzhen Party chief Wang Rong recently replaced his Audi A6 with a Shenzhen-made electric car in a bid to promote green living, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported Thursday. Officials of Wang’s rank are entitled to a motor vehicle costing up to 350,000 yuan (US$55,000) for official use only, with all expenses paid by the government. In China, ministers and provincial heads should have cars with an engine displacement of up to 3 liters and a price below 450,000 yuan.
