The site of the massive Tianjin blasts will be cleared thoroughly and replaced with an ecological park in the near future. Tianjin officials are currently asking for additional site suggestions from residents in the area. According to the schedule released by Tianjin Daily, the park will begin construction in November, 2015 and be completed before July, 2016. Meanwhile, the surrounding roads, primary schools and kindergartens near the explosion area also have a new re-construction plan, which was also released to the public for suggestions.

The planned ecological park at the Port of Tianjin has resulted in a number of online comments from netizens. @mogu said, “it’s good and it can also improve the environment, but don’t forget to build a monument to memorize the people we lost”.
