City Plans New Airport Terminal and Runway

Shenzhen plans to build a new runway and a new terminal in an effort to become a transit hub for domestic and international flights, according to Wu Xiaoming, director of the airport department of the city’s transportation commission.

The preliminary preparation for the plan has started.

In addition, Metro Line 11, which is under construction and is scheduled to open in 2016, will go directly to the city’s airport.

The planned terminal, T4, will also be home to a bus station and a railway station connected to the inter-city railway of Huizhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen, as well as the Shenzhen-Maoming railway.
