Tianjin is compiling a plan of building pedestrian and bicycle lanes in the central district encouraging integrated travel modes.

The city intends to erect barriers and bollards on certain roads and alter the road design so as to build exclusive pedestrian and bicycle lanes.

Walking and cycling are green, healthy and sustainable ways of traveling, however space for pedestrian and bike lanes is less than 20% in Tianjin.
