Bicycles Banned on China’s Trains

Bicycles including foldable bikes — are banned on China’s regular trains, the country’s railway authority has announced.

The ban is introduced due to problems with bicycles taking up passenger space and blocking corridors, said the China Railway Corp.

“It might cause inconvenience to some cyclists, but protecting the interest of the majority of the passengers and maintaining a good carriage environment is our priority,” said an official with the Shanghai Railway Bureau.
