New Initiatives for Urban Villages

The Mini-Apartment Model

Futian government is going to launch projects like Mini-Apartment and Vertical Parking Lot in Futian’s urban villages, aimed at improving citizens’ living standard.

Firstly, the 35 square meters mini-apartment will be restored and upgraded jointly by corporations and property owners aiming to provide living places that are safe, convenient and low-cost for Shenzhen’s immigrant workers.

Secondly, the vertical parking lot is to utilize the central public space ultimately.

Further more, Futian local government is going to implement Futian Canteen Project which is following the example of Canteen for Taxi Driver, aiming to solve the white collar workers’ eating problem in Shenzhen’s CBD and industry area.
