lung wah st, kennedy town, hong kong client: hk university & cys architects full design consultancy for a new public open space and communal areas for university students, with a focus on environmental sustainability. areas at podium level were left unplanted in order that Students could adopt them for planting of their own community garden. They have actively planted vegetables and further spread into adjacent planted beds. the ecological garden within the Local Open Space is intended to be low/no maintenance with the adoption of a mixed cover of naturalised ferns, sedges and endemic flowering plants. Bird and insect visitation is encouraged.
