A high speed rail connecting Shenzhen with the western part of Guangdong is starting construction.

On completion, the travel time from the western part of Guangdong to the Pearl River Delta will be cut to 3 hours, which originally takes more than 6 hours by car.

The high speed rail starts from Shenzhen North Station via Dongguan, Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Yangjiang and ends at Maoming East Station. The total length of the rail is 387 kilometers and the total investment is 59.3 billion.
