Futian Plans to Build “Manhattan” CBD

Shenzhen’ local Futian government is going to re-plan Futian’s CBD and integrate it into the Shenzhen Bay Development Strategy, which aims to develop a “Manhattan” CBD.


In the southern area the Futian Free Trade Zone will be developed as an important platform for free trading whilst the Lok Ma Chau Loop will become a communication platform for Hong Kong and Shenzhen which aims to develop education, science research and creative industry. At the west, Xiangmihu and the surrounding area will be developed as a high service industry centre especially for financial service and tourism, whilst the eastern Huaqiangbei area is intended as a national information centre and international commercial street.
