Bike Bridge to Be Built in Futian District

A bridge specially designed for cyclists will be built over Beihuan Boulevard in Futian District, according to a report by Shenzhen transportation commission on developing a slow traffic system in Futian CBD.

According to the report, the commission will build 25.5 kilometers of bicycle lanes connecting CBD facilities such as Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, Central Walk, Shenzhen Civic Center and Shenzhen Book City CBD Store and the outlying areas of Meilin, Lianhua and Caitian.

The report showed that 20 percent of residents weren’t satisfied with the slow traffic system in Futian CBD, as it is easily disrupted by vehicles and is unsafe. Nearly 40 percent thought slow traffic facilities should be improved, especially at intersections and flyovers.
