Beijing Draws up Decoration Design Guidelines

Beijing Municipal Commission of Urban Planning has drawn up “Decoration Design Standards for Houses” which will be available to the public shortly. 

Currently, 80% of new houses in Bejing are rough concrete buildings without any decoration. House owners have to entrust design companies to decorate their houses or do it by themselves.

To assemble the prefabricated walls or stairs into a building like lego is an energy saving way of house industrialization, which will become the trend in house construction. House decoration goes with house industrialization, which means the floor, walls and other fixed panels should be painted or installed and the facilities in kitchen and bathroom, the fixed furniture, doors and windows should be completely installed as well before handed over to clients.

The “Decoration Design standards for Houses” is not compulsive, just for recommendation.
