World's First Hydrogen-Powered Tram Unveiled in China

The world’s first ‪hydrogen-powered tramcar rolled off its production line in east China’s coastal city of Qingdao on Thursday.
 
According to its manufacturer---China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corporation Ltd. (‪‎CSR), the move makes China the first country in the world to produce hydrogen-powered street cars.

The newly unveiled tram has over 60 seats, and can hold up to 380 passengers at a time.

After filling up the car with hydrogen in just three minutes, the car can run 100 kilometers at one time, according to Liang Jianying, a chief engineer of CSR.
