Guangzhou to Limit Non-local Passenger Cars

Guangzhou plans to ban non-local passenger vehicles from entering the city during certain periods in order to ease congestion. The draft measures will limit cars in downtown areas during morning and evening rush hours, Monday to Friday.

Special vehicles including those licensed in Hong Kong and Macao and those used by foreign consulates are not subject to this limit. A public hearing will be held in the morning of April 19, but no timetable has been proposed for this policy.
