Groundbreaking Collaboration sees Urban Design Awards held in Shenzhen

The Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design (HKIUD) and Shenzhen SEZ Investment and Development Co. Ltd successfully co-organised the Urban Design Awards Exhibition Opening and Awards Presentation Ceremony at  Golden Harbour Business Tower, Qianhai, Shenzhen was held on 20 Sep 2019.

The 4th year of HKIUD Urban Design Awards recognised urban design related projects with outstanding performance and contributions in promoting excellence in Urban Design.

The awards are divided into Built Project, Plan / Concept and Research categories. In 2019 a total of 63 submissions were received.

2 Grand Awards and 10 Merits for the Built Project category, 2 Grand Awards and 4 Merits for Plan / Concept category were selected and displayed in Shenzhen.

Mr. Liu Chaoyang, vice manager of Shenzhen SEZ Investment and Development Co. Ltd and  Mr. Joel Chan, President of Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design introduced the awards.

Founded in 2011, the SHENZHEN SEZ CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT GROUP CO., LTD. acts as a platform for investments and financing at municipal levels, major municipal infrastructure construction, industrial upgrade and targeted support, in accordance with decisions and arrangements made by the Municipal committee of CPC, Municipal government and Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. By the end of March, 2017, its registered capital has totaled 32.121 billion RMB, with a total asset of 50.109 billion RMB. It aimed to build a trillion-worth group that befits Shenzhen's status, promoting Shenzhen's great leap forward in economic and social development.
