Together, they will develop China’s first major design museum.

Designed by the award-winning Japanese Pritzker laureate, Fumihiko Maki, this new Culture and Arts Centre features the interaction between commercial and cultural spaces, by taking advantage of the surrounding seascape. It's expected to open in December 2017.

Opened in 2016, the Shekou Cruise Center is part of a larger urban renewal and redevelopment along Shenzhen Bay. It's the only port in mainland China capable of accommodating the world's largest cruise ships – Royal Caribbean’s 220,000-gross tonne Oasis class.

Designed by the French architect Denis Laming, the Shekou Cruise Center runs direct ferry connections from Shenzhen to destinations across the Pearl River Delta, and can also handle cruise shipping docking and replenishment.
