On 9th and 10th December, Barry Wilson was invited as a guest critic to the final year Masters students of the Sustainable Urban Dynamics Program at Lund University, Sweden.
| The course sets out to develop skills in analyzing a selected urban area that is subjected to the pressures of change in a global perspective. Strategies are proposed for a large scale area in additional to producing an advanced, detailed design proposal. This years project focused on the Kwun Tong District of Hong Kong and followed up from the studies undertaken there in October. The course, lead by Peter Siostom, was run by studio master Martin Alfalk of Mandaworks and ably assisted by Nick Bigelow. Other guest critics included Harrison Fraker, Dean at UC Berkeley; Lisa Dietrich, Professor of Landscape Architecture at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Marco Broekman, of Lectoraat Future Urban Regions / Academies of Architecture Amsterdam. We once more shared ideas in attempting to solve the world’s planning problems. |
