Planning has started for this year's visit for students from Lund University's School of Architecture participating in the advanced course 'Sustainable Urban Dynamics'. It is a joint programme with Peking University. On May 28th, our director Barry Wilson has had a meeting with Martin Arfalk, course leader.

These concurrent courses focus on urban development and sustainability in the context of China, globalizations effect on the contemporary city, and the development of a multi-scalar design process. These themes will be explored throughout the semester in seminars, guest lectures, and present a specific proposal for the transformation of a portion of Kowloon East in Hong Kong.

As part of the course and design process, the class will take a 10 day study trip to Kowloon East, Hong Kong and complete a collaborative workshop with graduate students at Peking University's Graduate School of Landscape Architecture (GSLA) in Shenzhen. During the workshop the students will receive lectures from local researches and designers, visit the design site, and create group proposals that inspires their further work.
