Barry Wilson attended the Design of Children’s Play Environments Seminar organised by Playright Children’s Play Association and UNICEF. The purpose of the training is to provide the technical guidance to successfully design children’s outdoor play settings that address:

  1. Theories and practice of universal design and place making
  2. Design programming for human development, play, learning and community place making
  3. Using the environment as an interactive tool for learning, play socialization and community gathering
  4. Technical requirements for access and safety in play settings
  5. Thinking beyond traditional manufactured play equipment so each site is unique to its setting and brings nature and healthy living principles into the design
  6. Design for play as an urban living strategy that is part of creating healthy human habits.

The seminar was facilitated by Susan M. Goltsman and Timothy A Gilbert both from MIG Inc.
